At Frames by Rebecca, we have been providing high-quality picture frames to our customers for over 40 years. We take pride in our craftsmanship and attention to detail, ensuring that every frame is made to perfection.
Since they first opened a picture framing shop in their basement in 1977, Rebecca & Sam Pease have built a reputation for impeccable quality in custom archival framing. They retired after forty years in the summer of 2017, handing over the business to Ken Ashton.
Ken was a museum professional for twenty-five years before purchasing Frames by Rebecca. He spent twenty-three years as a museum technician and picture framer for the Corcoran Gallery of Art. After the Corcoran closed, Ken transferred over to the national Gallery of Art in a comparable position, before working at Frames by Rebecca.
Since purchasing the business, Ken has curated numerous institutions, galleries and clientele, including:
the National Museum of African American History and Culture, George Washington's Mount Vernon, the Smithsonian's Archives of American Art, Montgomery County Arts and Humanities Council, the Luther Brady Gallery of George Washington University, the Katzen Arts Center,
as well as numerous prominent art consultants, private collectors, and famous local artists such as Sam Gilliam and Linn Meyers.
Frames by Rebecca has earned the reputation as impeccable custom archival framers over the past forty years. We offer traditional mouldings as well as custom milled hardwoods with wax, color, stain or solid paint finishes. All materials used by the shop are of conservation quality.
We have framed a wide variety of 2D and 3D art, textiles and photos. Our framers welcome new challenges and offer experienced advice in the framing of your precious works of art. Please call or send us an email with any questions you might have. Everyone here at Frames by Rebecca looks forward to working with you!
